What is the Serengeti Plane?
The Serengeti Plane is a the first of a series of nine books about the issues, tasks and problems that we face in our environment today. Through humour, parody and the animal characters themselves, Dowling attempts to weave a story that aims to show the plight of the many regions of the world and the animals that live in them in today's modern global society. The animals are all trying to battle it out with man in the desperate attempt to survive and ultimately compete with man for the right to exist in a world that he has deemed as his. Through comedy and tragedy, Dowling aims to use these novels to demonstrate the need to change the way we exist and interact with the planet. The earth is a legacy that we all have, not just those who dominate it.
